All is well in {ontherun} land. I took a few days off to rest and recover. Running a marathon is tough on the body, while the pre- and post-race adrenaline rush is tough on the mind. I few days off were required to recharge – clear mind, strong body. I was go-go-going for so many days that it felt good to stop, sit, think.
One week ago I was eating pasta and dreaming marathon dreams. This afternoon I made it official – I added a second 26.2 bead to my treasured marathon bracelet.
I love this bracelet and all of the special memories it holds. Rest and reflection have brought me a renewed sense of happiness about where I’ve been and where I’m going. It’s an exciting journey. Each time I look down at my favorite bracelet, I remember that. And with the happy juices flowing, I’ve been up to my old tricks…

and pizza!
Good pizza, Cambrigdge, 1. pizza.
Perfect for refueling after a tiring race…or carb-loading before the big day. Lizzy, Kimmy, and I tasted, tested, and approved. I believe there’s some sort of race in Boston soon. If you’re coming, prepare to eat pizza with us.

Because even the spectators need their carbs.

Marathon madness is officially over and the structure of day-to-day life has returned. After all the excitement, I appreciate the calm comfort of my routine. I feel rested and it feels good.
What’s the best part of your daily routine? I love waking up slowly and eating a hearty breakfast with my dog at my feet. I’ve enjoyed that every morning this week. A good endorphin rush never hurts my mood either.
