The Luck of the Irish

I know St. Patrick’s Day is long gone, but I was so busy enjoying it that I missed the opportunity to blog about the fabulous occasion.

Green oats to make Popeye proud,

And give me energy for a shamrock search run!

I felt like a lucky leprechaun for four sunny miles around town.  I kept it easy because the real running happens tomorrow!

They St. Patrick’s Day celebration will continue when 4,000 runners descend upon the streets of Providence to run the St. Pat’s 5K.  I ran the very same race last year and it was one of my favorites.  I can’t wait to do it again!

Short, festive and fun!  I earned my 5K PR that day, so it will always hold a special place in my heart.  The seventy degree weather didn’t hurt either…

This year, it will be a different kind of race.  I have a marathon next weekend, so I can’t go out gunning for a new PR.  That’s totally fine with me because there are too many other things to focus on.  Little bro is running his very first race!

He takes after his sister…all business.  He’s run zero times since registering, so I’m sure his legs will be fresh.  Hope you’re hungry at the finish, bro…because you’ll be eating my dust! I kid.  Maybe…

Honestly, it will be a blast.  There are 4,000 runners sure to be decked in their Irish best and I know plenty of them.  Local races are the best for that!  Blog friends Alaina and Bekah are running, my aunt and uncle are running, and my {ontherun} twin is joining MomOnTheRun for some cheering.  That’s my kinda race!  May the luck of the Irish be with us all!

I think I’ll dig into the archives for something to wear.  I have the whole leprechaun look down pat.

Do you ever run festive races?  What’s your favorite?

An Ontherun Holiday

Happy Holidays from the Ontherun family!

If you celebrated Christmas, I hope it was wonderful!  I hope you enjoyed time spent with loved ones, great food, gift-giving, and family traditions.

We love a crazy Christmas morning, in new Pj’s, of course!

“O. M. G.  A new apple corer-potato slicer!”

That Santa!  He knows me too well…

But someone knows me even better than Santa.  Someone found the perfect gift!

Sock Monkey feet pajamas…I love me some cozy fleece.  But, alas!  Someone else loved them, too.  They were stolen away during the family Yankee Swap.  Who doesn’t want Sock Monkey feet pajamas?!

My weekend was filled with fun, food, and family.  It’s exactly why Christmastime is my favorite time of the year.  And the holiday season is still going strong with New Year’s right around the corner.  I am looking forward to more celebrating this weekend, but for now…school vacation!  I’m beat.

It’s snowing.  I’m wearing pajamas (I wish they had sock money feet!) and I’m staying put.  I will eat, sleep, watch trashy TV, and love every. single. minute.  This is the life.

Is it snowing where you live?  What are your favorite snowy day activities?
