My Foot Hurts

I’ll make this short, but there’s nothing sweet about it.  My foot hurts. I last ran on Wednesday.  I completed eight miles on the treadmill.  Eight uneventful, mid-week miles.  It was what I’ve come to expect of a mid-week run.

I did not expect my left foot to hurt when I woke up yesterday.  But it did.  I had pain along the outside edge of my left foot.  I can speculate about the pain.  I can Google it until the cows come home, but I do not have an answer.

I have not run since Wednesday.  Instead, I visited a chiropractor that I know and made an urgent phone call to a PT.  They shared similar sentiments, “Don’t freak out!” I was told that tapering can create new aches and pains.  It is also a time for extra rest and I should take it.

Tomorrow morning, I will attempt a run.  I will see how it feels.  I will stop if it hurts.

I don’t know what else to say.  I don’t know what my left foot has in store for me.  I won’t freak out.

Becky nooooo! Don’t freak out, that is key. I had pain like that before if I’m correctly visualizing the area of the foot you are talking about. Call me tomorrow. Seriously. I’m saying a prayer tonight, don’t stress, I know it’s hard. If you need ANYTHING let me know. I am here for you always, especially if you just want to talk. Good luck with the run. Love you. xoxo.

I’m sorry honey! I’m sending good vibes to your foot. Just rest and try to keep your mind off of it. Read a trashy magazine!

Don’t freak out!!! You will be okay!! Trust me, I am in the injury queen. I definitely suggest physical therapy and the eliptical. I just finished 20 and had only run like 6 times all month and I was fine… if your foot hurts- do the eliptical!! Its low impact and can be just as beneficial as running if you pump up the incline and the resistance! You’ve already done all the work for your race so you will be great no matter what!!! I believe in you!

Becky! Noooo! You have to be ok. I am crossing my fingers that it’s nothing. I started having inner thigh pain a few weeks ago and panicked. But, since I’m smart like you, I started seeing the chiropractor and PT and it’s helping a lot. They will help you and you WILL run awesomely in your marathon in 2 weeks!
